Nishimura Advanced Ceramics developed new Zirconia material grade which is break-proof/break-resistance Zirconia. This material has the highest fracture toughness (MPa m¹/² 9~10)。Check out below movie we are trying to break the plate.
We have dropped the material from 2nd floor of an office, but it wasn’t broken.
As you can see on the movie, some pieces chipping when the plate was contacted to the ground, but it’s not the ceramic plate, it’s an asphalt.
