BEGINNING
Nishimura Advanced Ceramics was founded by Masajiro Nishimura and his wife, Taka, in Higashiyama district of Kyoto in 1918.
Later, as they were having hard time of the tough period, their company flexibly kept changing its shape, including the relocation of factory, expansion of production capacity, government-led joint enterprise during the war, incorporation of the business, and establishment of a new head office and factory after the war. In 1966, in response to the movement of the pottery complex development in Kyoto’s ceramics manufacturing industry (including industrial ceramics and traditional craft ceramics), the Nishimuras moved to a new location, which is the current Kiyomizuyaki Pottery Complex, and started production here under the name of Nishimura Advanced Ceramics Co., Ltd.
The spirit of craftsmanship, techniques to respond to required precision, a flexible organization that can adapt to changes, the spirit-technique-body that is devoted to pottery, all of which have been nurtured throughout our history and passed down through the process up to the present, continue to live on and to be renewed.
PRESENT
‘” 100th Anniversary Celebration at Nishimura Advanced Ceramics “
Today, while we manufacture the products for mass production, we also fabricate products that cannot be produced in large quantities due to the required precision such as small-lot products or medical equipment parts, thus we flexibly respond to diversifying demand.
Nowadays, with the advance of worldwide technology, the required products are changing such as LED parts for the lighting equipments of the Tokyo Sky Tree or products for blood tests. In order to manufacture the best possible products that meet the needs of the times in response to the sophisticated electronic devices and changing times, we cherish the spirit of craftsmanship that has been passed down from generation to generation, technology that responds to the required precision, a flexible organization that can adapt to change, and the spirit-technique-body devoted to pottery manufacturing.

FUTURE OF CERAMICS MARKET
The demand for ceramics is rapidly growing as the electrical products are increasing, becoming sophisticated and diversified.
Over the past 10 years, the ceramics market has grown by about 10% annually, and this trend is expected to continue. In the semiconductor industry, which is the largest user of ceramics, the demand is expected to double by 2030.
In our daily lives, ceramics are used as critical components in smartphones, PCs, LCDs, electric vehicles, semiconductors, watches, medical equipment,
analytical instruments, and machine tools. At the same time, the competition is intensifying, and emerging foreign manufacturers are growing. In the environment like this, we are striving to take the front stage of the global market.
