Polycrystal YAG ceramics are garnet-structured crystals composed of a composite oxide of yttrium and aluminum (Y3Al5O12), which are polycrystallized.
Although this material is often used in laser applications, we have been focusing on its high mechanical strength. Compared to high-purity yttria, its fracture toughness and other strengths are significantly higher and precision machining is possible, making it a viable alternative for applications where yttria does not have sufficient strength.
