We made a shaped product with translucent alumina N-9000NS. The surface roughness is very smooth after sintering. Cutting is possible with the molded product before sintering.
This is an example of a complex shape that would be difficult to process if it were sapphire.
Cutting is possible on before fired compacts, enabling the machining of complex shapes.
Furthermore, processing time and yield can be significantly reduced, and material prices can be lowered, resulting in significant cost reductions compared to sapphire.
