Sintering Process

Based on our 100 years of ceramic manufacturing, we can optimize quality, size, and characteristics as customers require. In addition, we have 14 sintering furnaces that ensure our product has the best temperature control and Heat curve control.

Risk of Crack

Green body ceramics contain a significant amount of organic binders. If sintering is rushed, these binders can rapidly gasify, leading to cracks in the final product. For thick and large products, the sintering process can take up to two weeks in the kiln.

Shrinkage control

In ceramics, the sintering process is the most critical step. During this process, the dimensions of the ceramics shrink by approximately 20-30%.

Why does Ceramic deform during the sintering process?

During shrinkage, ceramics soften and can deform due to gravity, air flow, heat transfer, and friction with the contact surface. As a result, ceramics can deform during the sintering process.
Leveraging 100 years of sintering expertise, Nishimura Ceramics is committed to preventing deformation during the sintering process.
